Sorry, maybe I should clarify. You see, this post is a joke. Wikipedia describes a joke as, “something spoken, written, or done with humorous intention” and I can say with confidence that’s what I was going for. You see, this is my blog and I like to have a good time on here and make people laugh sometimes. It’s my favorite hobby.

Now, the joke is that rain would be pretty weird if you had no idea what it was. And the idea of someone who has no idea what rain is walking during a rainstorm is, to me, pretty funny. Maybe it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but you’ll find that a lot of jokes don’t tend to make sense. Those kinds of jokes fall into a category called “absurdist humor”, jokes that focus on ridiculous, impossible, or nonsensical scenarios, dialog, and visuals.

With that in mind, let’s imagine the scenario again; a person walking up a hill during a rainstorm. Already this is an unpleasant image. I’m sure you can imagine a muddy hill is difficult to walk up. This person definitely isn’t having a fun time. And to add to the unpleasantness, they must be so confused by all the water hitting their face. “WHO IS SPITTING ON ME,” they may cry when the first drops begin to hit, “STOP IT THIS INSTANT!” But the rain doesn’t stop. It keeps going, getting stronger, as does this poor sap’s confusion. “IF YOU’VE GOT SOMETHING TO PROVE BY SPRAYING ME WITH A HOSE YOU’VE GONE AND PROVEN IT,” they cry in desperation as they collapse against the hill, “DOES IT FEEL GOOD WHEN YOU DO THAT DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A BIG MAN”

I don’t know. I think it’s pretty funny, but that’s just me! My sense of humor is sort of silly sometimes. Sometimes I make silly noises by accident and spend the next five minutes laughing at myself
